Where to Next: Bora Bora
One of the most beautiful islands in the world; Bora Bora is a destination you will never forget
PERFECT LOCATION TO 'GET AWAY'
Pronounced "Pora Pora" by the local Tahitians, this incredible island paradise is home to rich culture, spectacular scenery, and an abundance of exciting things to see and do. Often referred to as the "Pearl of the Pacific", there are few destinations that can rival the breathtaking beauty of Bora Bora and the other islands that make up the island chain of Tahiti.
LUXURY RESORTS
Three of our favorite luxury resorts located on Bora Bora are the Le Meridien Bora Bora, the InterContinental Le Moana Bora Bora, and the Four Seasons Bora Bora. All three of these incredible resorts offer unique over-water bungalows and villas, just one of the luxuries that set Bora Bora and Tahiti apart from other destinations. If staying in an over-water bungalow, fresh fruits, pastries, and juices can be delivered to you each morning on board a traditional pirogue, a wooden canoe, covered in flowers. Each resort also features five-star dining composed of both Polynesian and international cuisine. One of the highlights at each of the resort are the wonderful spas. The Le Meridien offers an extensive wellness center and spa and at the InterContintal Le Moana, a Turkish Spa and Bath is available for all of your relaxation needs. The Four Seasons is world-renowned for their excellent spas and the Four Seasons Bora Bora will only exceed your expectations. All three of these resorts are incredible in their own way and offer an exemplary level of guest services. With each resort available at different price points, it is easy to find the perfect resort for you.
ABUNDANCE OF ACTIVITIES
Though Bora Bora may be small, you will certainly not lack in things to do on this amazing island and its surrounding islets. Explore the turquoise lagoon waters and barrier reefs by snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, para sailing, wind surfing, taking a ride on a wave-runner, and catamaran sailings - just to name a few of Bora Bora's long list of exciting water activities. You can watch docile black tip reef sharks and bat rays be fed from only a few feet away, or visit the Bora Bora Turtle Center where you can watch, interact with, and learn about some of the beautiful turtle species that can be found throughout Tahiti. Take a guided 4x4 safari or hike to explore the island forests and stop at breathtaking panoramic views along the way. If you would rather spend the day relaxing, then the extraordinary Polynesian spas are there to pamper all of your worries away. You can also take a short trip into Bora Bora's main village of Vaitape, which is known for its unique boutiques and fine restaurants, such as the famous Bloody Mary's, that serve international cuisine. ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME DESTINATION
In 2012 Bora Bora was named "the best island in the world" by U.S. News and we wholeheartedly agree. Bora Bora's lagoons resemble brilliant palettes of blues and greens, and with an endless array of exciting and relaxing activities you will not want to leave these stunning island sanctuaries. Visiting Bora Bora, or any of the Tahitian islands, is truly a trip of a lifetime; one that you will never forget.
